7 Deadly Sins
In this work, I referred to the "7 great sins" that gave it its name. I wanted to reconcile it with a view with which I was familiar.
I made my work for my dear friend Mehmet Bilal.
In order to understand the meaning of the seven Deadly Sins, first we need to clarify that it is actually wrong to call them ‘deadly sins.
What we know as deadly sins are more accurately the capital vices, that is, those imperfections of our personalities and inclinations of our souls that determine harmful behaviors for human beings and those surrounding them. For Christians, those vices are exactly the cause of the sin, hence the confusion that makes us consider capital sins and vices as the same thing. In fact, a sin is an effect, a consequence, of the vice.
From here, I referred to Ayn Rand and her philosophy, Objectivism.
Regarding human nature, Rand said, “Man is a being of self-made soul.” Rand believes human beings are not born in sin or with destructive desires; nor do they necessarily acquire them in the course of growing to maturity.
